"I'll never sink that far," or at least that's what I thought, but I've spent the past few years trying to claw my way out.

Face to face with reality, I'm waist deep in the mud of all these regrets and reminders of the person I've become. Face to face with reality, my foundation's weak. I'll suffer, but never sink, at least that's what I'd like to think.

"I will never sink that far."

I'll cast aside this reality and sink back into collapse, a new hell, somewhere between consciousness and fading into black. I'll keep sinking into nothing, reminding me of everything I lack. I stare into the abyss and the abyss stares back.
